Takeda Pharmaceutical are launching an open innovation initiative, inviting researchers to submit their ideas and technologies across five different focus areas, up to £85k / €100k / $150k (AUD). Summarised below are the interests of Takeda relating to innovations in platform technologies focused on assay systems and analysis methods. In the attached application form, each of these subtopics have been expanded upon to give further detail of proposals that would be within scope.

Submissions should be relevant to one or more of the following titles:

  • REF#16: Development of a phenotypic assay to reflect neurodegenerative disease phenotypes
  • REF#17: Novel technology platform to realize precision medicine by using patient-derived somatic cells for neurodegenerative diseases
  • REF#18: Novel therapeutic approach or assay development for neurodegenerative diseases caused by mitochondrial dysfunction or damaged mitochondria
  • REF#19: Research for the common mechanism of the protein aggregations in proteinopathies, and assay development for an evaluation system for exploring aggregation inhibitors
  • REF#20: Biomarker research of patient stratification for neurodegenerative diseases; e.g. ALS, rare disease, FTD, AD
  • REF#21: Biomarker and drug target research for novel non-coding RNA reflecting specific disease mechanism or disease progression for neurodegenerative disease
  • REF#22: Development of next-generation organoids using engineering approaches
  • REF#23: Research on preclinical models or clinical biomarker discovery for inherited muscle diseases and cardiomyopathies
  • REF#24: Production technology and quality verification of human ES/iPS cell-derived brain organoids
