Seeking Novel Chelated Fertilizers

Header

Haifa Group, a world leader in the field of fertilizers, is seeking novel, biodegradable, water-soluble chelating compounds for micronutrients. The team behind this campaign is interested in chelating compounds that can replace commercially available chelates (e.g., EDTA, EDDHA) while maintaining comparable elemental load and performance in fertigation applications.

Approaches of Interest:

  • The micronutrients that are of interest are: Iron, Copper, Zinc and Manganese.
  • Chelating compounds must be comparable to the commercially available chelates, including elemental load and performance when used with fertigation in different soils, including alkaline soils.
  • Chelates should be effective across a wide spectrum of soil pH levels, with highest interest in those that perform well at pH levels higher than 7.
  • Opportunities should possess the capacity for large-scale production.

Out of Scope:

  • Hazardous compounds.
  • Foliar applications.

Developmental Stages of Interest:

Opportunities from TRL 1 to TRL 6 are within scope, provided there is proof-of-concept.
