Our client, a global company with a focus on hygiene, is seeking novel approaches to address imperfections in glazed ceramic, specifically for use in the toilet bowl. The team is interested in solutions that can be applied by consumers and will last for several days after application, creating a cleaner, glossier appearance.
Approaches of Interest:
- Coatings that mask or treat any discoloration on surfaces in frequent contact with water
- Coatings should also fill micro pits or scratches caused by harsh chemistries in cleaners, preventing any debris from getting trapped and making the surface appear smoother, whiter, and glossier
- All technologies and formats are of interest if they are appropriate for a consumer facing product, including new consumer experiences
Out of Scope:
- Approaches that require a curing step, e.g. baking post application
- Approaches that have environmental concerns or that would require on-pack hazard labelling beyond those usually found on consumer products
Developmental Stages of Interest:
- Opportunities from TRL 3 to TRL 6 with at least experimental proof of concept are in scope
- Submissions of expertise and novel research proposals from experts in relevant research areas are also welcome
Submission Information
Applicants should complete the submission form which should contain a brief, non‑confidential overview of your proposal, demonstrating how the RFP requirements are satisfied by your approach. Opportunity for Collaboration
