Our client, a global company with a focus on hygiene, is seeking chemistry and formulation expertise, together with related technologies, to develop a single consumer product capable of removing the full range of common bathroom stains. The client has a particular interest in novel active chemistries able to address all target stains within a single formulation.
Approaches of Interest:
- Single-product solutions able to remove stains that typically require two separate cleaners with opposite pH, specifically rust, limescale, soap scum, mold, and mildew
- Formulations should ideally be safe to use on all bathroom surfaces
- The preferred product format is a liquid formulation compatible with a trigger spray bottle
- Formulation expertise, including how chemicals can be adjusted to meet specific formulation needs and manage stability and stain-removal performance, is also of interest
- A final shelf-life of 2 years is targeted for the formulation
- Approaches with known and proven chemistry scale-up are preferred
Out of Scope:
- Chemistries that require specialized ventilation or extensive personal protective equipment
- Chemistries with unknown or significant environmental toxicity, including those harmful to plant life or aquatic life
Developmental Stages of Interest:
- Opportunities from TRL 4 to TRL 6 with at least lab-based validation are in scope
- Opportunities with supporting stability testing data are preferred
- Submissions of expertise and novel research proposals from experts in relevant research areas are also welcome
Submission Information
Applicants should complete the submission form which should contain a brief, non‑confidential overview, demonstrating how the RFP requirements are satisfied by your approach. To submit your proposal, please visit our website, register, and submit your application form under the appropriate Connect campaign
Opportunity for Collaboration
Our client is open to a range of collaboration opportunities, with the most appropriate outcome being decided on a case-by-case basis. For our client, this would typically involve a funded joint development agreement and/or licensing.
