Seeking Biomarker-guided Approaches for the Diagnosis of Dementia

Nissan Chemical Corporation, known for innovative research efforts and high‑quality products in a wide range of sectors, is seeking novel biomarker‑guided approaches for the diagnosis of dementia from biopsy samples. Successful approaches should provide simultaneous analysis of multiple markers, offering high sensitivity and selectivity.

Approaches of Interest: 

  • Minimally invasive diagnostic procedures offering the detection of multiple dementia biomarkers in biopsy samples including blood, plasma, sweat, tears, breath, or CSF.
  • Screening and detection of early-stage dementia biomarkers is a priority, but later stage biomarkers will also be considered. 
  • Biomarker screening platforms, including those developed for other diseases with the potential to be applied to dementia, are also of interest. 
  • Diagnostic techniques for application in all types of dementia are within scope for this campaign. 

Out of Scope:

  • PET imaging and other methods of digital image analysis are excluded from this call. 
  • Therapeutic approaches for dementia with no diagnostic potential are beyond the scope of this campaign. 

Developmental Stages of Interest:

  • Opportunities from basic research to late preclinical stage are preferred, although later stage opportunities will also be considered.
